Colour Balance Advice
If sending an image on disc/email, we strongly advise sending us a 'hard' copy for the balancing of colours etc.

On-Line Image / Data Transfer
If an image is to be sent from one computer to another, whether it is via disc or e-mail, several points should be considered:

When saving the file as an image it should be saved as far as possible in keeping with the following parameters:

The image should be saved in a program compatible with Adobe Photoshop version 3 up to 7.

The format of the image should be as a TIFF, EPS, PDF, PSD or JPEG.

The resolution of the image should be no less than 225dpi and the image should be no smaller than that required on the finished card.

When saving the image in colour it should be saved if possible in CMYK Mode (the four process colours)*

*Please note that if we have to shift modes on our own computers the final printed matter may not match that on a customer computer.

In the case of an image containing layers, all layers should be flattened before sending.

Please note that where an image is printed on a paper specific to a colour printer the image may not match that printed on a conventional paper or card (in some cases the colours from a computer printer are unrealistic and too vibrant).

If you're using a Layout Program...

All our layouts are done in QuarkXpress.

We can also accept Acrobat PDF files which should be saved as high resolution and print ready.

All relevant fonts/images should be included.

A printed copy should accompany any order to show layout / colours etc.

Any colours saved in Quark should appear as process colour and NOT spot colour (Please note the colour shift in colours such as some pantone colours change when saved as a process colour).

We cannot be held responsible for colour shifts from one mode to another.

Photo Scanning
As every photo is individually scanned and colour separated we can enlarge, reduce or crop the photo to your specifications. Black and white or sepia postcards are also available at the same price as colour.
Borders
You can specify the size of the border you require, but please make sure your photo suits the proportions you choose. (If you require more than 4 photos on a multi-picture postcard this will be charged at £15.00 + VAT for each additional photograph).

Our Imprint
Unless otherwise instructed The Postcard Company Ltd. imprint will appear on your card

Timing
All cards are normally dispatched within 10 working days from receipt of your order, payment and completed approved proofs. Our Express Print Service offers turnaround in 5 working days

Print Finish
With our Lithographic Print Service (500+ copies) the standard finish is Gloss Laminated. Our Digital Print Service (10 to 500 copies) has a flat non-laminated finish as standard. Some other options are available, please contact us for details.
